The Helix – ECT Innovation Center

The Helix, a partnership between Emerson Climate Technologies and the University of Dayton, is a state of the art research and training center where Emerson, HVACR industry leaders and University faculty/students collaborate on new and emerging technologies. The facility is designed to spur the creativity necessary to address HVACR challenges in an increasingly interconnected world.

Central to this mission are five testing modules that focus on supermarket refrigeration, food service operations, residential HVAC, data center cooling and light commercial building control systems – all under one roof.  These laboratories reflect Emerson’s market segments.   The researchers employed at the center are able to simulate environmental conditions to advance their research in a global market.

The $20 million, 35,000 SF facility in addition to the laboratories also contains classroom and training rooms and will employ 30-50 people when fully operational.  The Helix is designed for LEED certification
