St. Louis Zoo Animal Nutrition Center
Sustainability and the Built Environment
2011
The St. Louis Zoo selected Fox Architects to design their 16,000 SF, state of the art Animal Nutrition Center. This project is the first LEED certified facility constructed at the Zoo. Green concepts include high efficiency mechanical systems, low voc coatings, local and recycled materials specification, decreased storm water runoff and installation of the largest “green” roof at the Zoo. The building houses offices, prep space, cooler/freezer and dry storage, with educational facilities in the lower level.
