Taylor Community Science Resource Center
St. Louis, MO
Size: 69,000 SF
Taylor Center is a dynamic place, providing outreach and community programs for youngsters of all ages, adults, and educators. The 69,000 SF Taylor Center meets one of the St Louis metropolitan area’s most critical needs – one facility that provides high-quality information about science and technology for many different audiences, including educators, parents, teens and community-based organizations.
Housed in a renovated under-utilized group of warehouses the facility has several classrooms, a wet laboratory for hands on science experiments, an extensive natural history / science collection and an expanded resource library.
Fox Architects selection for this challenging project was based on our approach which began with a Discovery Phase that identified opportunities that drove the renovation and insured program success. Beyond the building walls, Fox Architects planned the utilization of outdoor areas for education and learning.
