The Board of Education, Roberts Lofts

St. Louis, MO

Client: Roberts Companies, Inc.
Year Completed: 2003
Size: 114,000 SQ FT
Project Budget: $14.5 M

Built in 1893 and designed by prominent St. Louis architect Isaac Taylor, the former St. Louis Board of Education Building was renovated to preserve the Art Deco detailing throughout the seven-story building. Working with the demands of the National Park Service Historic Standards, the modern luxury apartments were planned around the wider existing corridor in an attempt to maintain the building’s original civic character. New double height terrace levels afford top floor residents spectacular views fronting a revitalized downtown district.
