Emerging St. Louis Business Leader, Adnan Omeragic
Our very own Adnan Omeragic, Partner at Fox Architects has been selected as an honoree of the 40 Under 40 Class of 2021. Check out the link to the story here. This is awarded to the movers and shakers in the St. Louis Region that are key players at different businesses in the area. Adnan has proven to be a key asset not only here at Fox but also in our community.
Adnan came to the United States in 1999 from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Throughout his journey he has gained an understanding and appreciation for positive community engagement. This experience has fueled his passion for giving back and getting involved within and outside of his community. He donated his time to assist the Bosnian Chamber of Commerce on acquiring proper approvals and zoning reviews for building a Sebilj Fountain (a replica of the fountain located in Bosnia) in Saint Louis City. The fountain serves as a comforting spot for the whole neighborhood and creates a welcoming and familiar atmosphere for the Bosnian community. He is on the Board of Directors at the International Institute of Metropolitan Saint Louis where outside of his board duties, he is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Recently, Adnan has also spoke out about his own experience about being a Bosnian Refugee. He shared his story at a press conference at the International Institute of St Louis when Mayor Tishaura Jones opened our community up to Afghanistan Refugees after the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan. Furthermore, he regularly sits in on panel discussions which are focused on educating non-immigrant community members about immigrants and telling their story. Adnan serves as a member of the building committee that is responsible for the planning and construction of the Bosnian Islamic Community Center. In his role, he advises the leadership on the current and future construction projects. Lastly, He is a member of the steering committee for the Festival of Nations, an event that is very near and dear to his heart because it brings all the communities together in one spot. In addition to his community involvement, Adnan is an avid volunteer at various Interfaith events and is mentoring architectural students from local colleges and universities.
From a business development standpoint, since Adnan joined Fox Architects in 2014, he has been instrumental in our strategy for Operational Improvement and Business Development. He put in place a technology strategy that proved especially useful with the advent of COVID-19 in early 2020. He has managed improvements to our office construction document templates, which greatly improved our overall drawing quality. Then from a business development standpoint, Adnan has become the main client liaison to our second largest client. This is a fortune 500 business with headquarters on the west coast and facilities worldwide. He has taken that client from 2% of revenue in 2014, to 8.9% in fiscal 2018, 18.4% in 2019. Fiscal 2020 numbers are still being finalized.
