Joel graduated in May 1985 with his Bachelor of Architectural Technology degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to joining Fox Architects, Joel founded and was a Principal at Zwick + Gandt Architecture with Brian Zwick for the previous 17 years. Joel has expertise in multiple project types, with an emphasis on education and retail. As a Senior Architect at Fox, Joel manages projects for a select group of clients including many long-term relationships.

Outside of work, Joel loves spending time with his family, making trips to Wisconsin to visit extended family, and collecting breweriana.  He has amassed the largest collection of advertising from the old Lemp brewery here in St. Louis (a small portion of which is on display at the Lemp Mansion).
